If the pressure equipment or system in operation needs to be repaired or modified, the provisions of Government Decree 213/2019 (VIII. 27.) shall apply.
The 213/2019 (VIII. 27.) Government Decree contains the “General rules for the installation, commissioning, operation, decommissioning, permanent decommissioning, repair, re-commissioning after repair, modification, periodic inspection and termination of pressure vessels and filling equipment”.
Sections 8, 9 and 10 of the Regulation contain a three-part procedure for the repair and conversion of pressure vessels:
During the pre-notification process, operators or companies carrying out repairs, modifications and installations are often confronted with the fact that the essential element of the notification, the identification data (manufacturer, serial number, year of manufacture) and other documents of the pressure equipment or filling equipment are not available or are incomplete. In such cases, the missing technical documentation must be replaced, which is essentially the responsibility of the manufacturer.

The operator or its delegate may apply to the Authority for a new authorisation to operate by submitting the relevant documentation and contractor’s declarations. The operator or its delegate may choose between two procedures under the Regulation:
If the operator applies for the re-commissioning procedure after the repair or modification by means of a certificate of conformity, TAM CERT Hungary Ltd. is entitled to issue the certificate of conformity, which will allow the operator to obtain the operating licence for the equipment.
